THE  HOLY  SPIRIT

What the Bible Teaches
About:

God
Angels

    Jesus     Man
Satan

THESE PAGES ON THE HOLY SPIRIT ARE ADAPTED FROM:

What the Bible Teaches by Reuben A. Torrey, Baker Book House, Grand Rapids, Michigan 17th Edition (c) 1898 (not 1998) by Reuben A. Torrey.

The text is arranged as 'points' with supporting Scripture.  I have replaced Torrey's quotes from the King James Version with
quotes from the New International Version from Zondervan Publishing.  For the sake of continuity I refer to the information below as "questions" although most are statements.

(This site has two copies of these Holy Spirit pages -- one with 'questions' and one with 'points'.)

THE PERSONHOOD OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Importance of the Doctrine of the Holy Spirit.

If the Spirit is a distinct Divine Being we should worship Him.  If it is simply an influence from God we should not.

If the Spirit is a power, we should seek to control it. If it is a divine being, we should submit to it.

It is important to our spiritual growth to recognize the personhood of the Holy Spirit.

The Fact that the Holy Spirit is a Person, not a Thing.
